We provide a two week health guarantee, as well as a lifetime against any congenial birth defects or WHS (Hedgehogs). If birth defect or WHS is suspected by a qualified veterinarian, documentation is required stating cause of defect in their opinion. We will then replace the animal if defect causes or will cause the death of the animal, which can be done right away at defect being discovered or when the animal passes.

A deposit reserve is needed in order to guarantee your animal choice. The deposit is non-refundable, but is transferable to any other available animal should you decide to change after meeting your choice. However, if we are holding your selection and pickup is not happening for some time, please understand that your baby will get bigger, but will still be friendly as we still continue to handle them and keep them friendly, and therefore the transferable option may be null and void and decided as such at our discretion on a case by case basis. An appointment is needed in order to view or pickup your animal, the address for local pickup is at the bottom of your order confirmation. We do not have set hours, and can usually accommodate when you would like within reason.
If wanting to pickup at a show we are attending, the address, admission and hours are listed on the events page. If wanting your animal(s) shipped, you will receive an invoice for the balance of the animal(s) and the flight charge, we would also need the address on the drivers license of the person picking them up, the closest airport options, and a phone number as well in order for the flight to be booked, you will then be given the flight information and time the flight is arranged.

FAQ
Q: Do you ship or deliver animals?
A: We do currently ship animals thru Delta airlines for an additional $300.00, which includes the flight, travel carrier, supping supplies, etc., please be aware they will be same day air shipped to be picked up from closest major airport at destination and charges need to be paid in full prior to flight booking . We no longer offer delivery services.

Q: Can I have a animal younger than 6 weeks old?
A: Pictures of available Hedgehogs are placed up on the website with birth dates as well as when they will be ready for pickup. Hedgehogs are not ready until they are at least 6 weeks old, no exceptions. We will not be bribed or persuaded to release them any sooner, we assess and monitor them to make sure they are eating and drinking and maintaining themselves fully, so it may sometimes take longer depending on each individual animal.

Q: Are you available for continued support should I have more questions?
A: Yes we offer 24/7 support, including any holidays, as we care greatly for the animals we raise, and have even gone to homes to help with setups or care needs. Please research as well as listen to the advice we give, as we have extensive experience and knowledge of their care needs and of mishaps others have encountered.

Q: Do they bite?
A: Any animal can bite, typically Hedgehogs don't bite, and if going to they will lick first before they decide to nibble, this is usually if something good tasting is on your hands or if they are performing the anointing process, Which is when they mask themselves with a new scent to blend in with that scent so they don't smell different in their new environment.

Q: Are they rodents?
A: No. Hedgehogs are mammals with their closest relatives being moles and shrews, and are not related to Porcupines even though they look similar.

Q: What diet/foods do you recommend?
A: We recommend and use a quality dry adult cat food (Purina), and give treats of meal worms, wax worms, crickets, dubia roaches, scrambled eggs, cooked chicken, livers, turkey, apples, honey dew, watermelon, and cantaloupe on occasions.

Q: What do you recommend for Housing requirements?
A: We personally recommend a small rabbit or guinea pig cage with a plastic bottom and wire sides and top.  Plastic Storage bins are popular to use, and work well, just hard to heat without overheating if needing to supply a heating source. If you are using a plastic storage bin type of tub, you will need to cut plenty of holes for ventilation. Aquariums should be avoided since they do not provide enough ventilation and are more difficult to clean. Your hedgehog will also need a hiding spot, you can use Igloos made of plastic with an opening for them to crawl into and sleep or fleece pouches as well. They will also need a Wheel that is solid and quiet and easy to clean. Hedgehogs are solitary creatures and I do not recommend housing two together ever, although I have heard it can be done on rare occasion. Hedgehog’s can easily injure each other or bully each other over food. Never keep a female and male together unless you intend to breed them.

Q: What do you recommend for heating needs?
A: Ideally, your house being kept in the temperature range, or the room kept in with a space heater, or base board heater. But if not able to do this, A Ceramic Heat Emitter and a Ceramic Dome would be the next best option to use, as it only produces heat and not any white or red light. A thermometer should also be used in order to make sure the cage temperature is kept between 75-85 degrees for hedgehogs, and 70-80 for gliders. If the temperature drops too low they may try to hibernate and prolonged exposure to cold could prove deadly. If you are using a bin for hedgehogs make sure to monitor the temperature closely as they may tend to over-heat in those as the sides do not provide for proper ventilation.

Q: What do you recommend for Bedding needs?
A: There are many types of bedding that you can use for your hedgehog. I recommend aspen shavings. Do not use cedar, because of the respiratory illnesses associated with it. Pine tends to be really dusty and not very absorbent. You can also try other small animal bedding, but I have not heard much positive about any other bedding materials. I would avoid corn cob bedding or walnut bedding. Carefresh bedding is also acceptable, although I have heard they sometimes ingest it and it can cause problems with blockage in their intestinal track. Some even use fleece liners. The fleece is easy to clean and provides for lots of different patterns. It is also great to use if you are an allergy sufferer. Be cautious with long hair or with any materials you place in the hedgehog’s cage, since their feet can get caught on threads and potentially have the circulation cut off which might result in the amputation of a leg.

Q: Are Hedgehogs illegal in my state?
A: They are illegal in Maine (unless 2 permits obtained); California; Georgia; Hawaii; Pennsylvania; the 5 boroughs of New York city; Douglas County, Nebraska; Windsor, Ontario; and Langley, British Columbia. You should check with your local facilities to make sure as well.
